Join us for a powerful and thought-provoking evening in conversation with Dr Helen Vatsikopoulos, featuring world-renowned economist, author, and former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis.
By writing RAISE YOUR SOUL Yanis Varoufakis attempted to counter the rise of authoritarianism, chauvinism and the loss of hope that seems to be infecting our Western societies. To react to the creeping hopelessness, Varoufakis decided to tell the story of five Greek women who shaped him. His secret hope is that, in reading the stories of Eleni, Anna, Trisevgeni, Georgia and Danaë, readers will also steel their resolve against authoritarianism, fascism, chauvinism – and, yes, in the process, raise their soul too, if only a little.
