The Children of Pan: Arcadians in Australia

Professor Tamis’ book narrates the immigration and the socio-economic, cultural, and political organisation of over 60,000 Arcadians who settled in Australia from 1953 to 1980. It records the harsh years of the exodus from their ancestral lands, the painful initial awareness of a unknown industrial environment and an alien culture, the sacrifices, the bold commitments and the achievements of those who worked so hard and persevered in sustaining the values of their homeland. Their children and grandchildren will cherish this publication as a lasting memorial to their forebears’ legacy.
