A River Divided

Launch of the novel by Professor George Paxinos

“As different artists sculpt different statues from the same block of marble, different environments produce different characters even in identical twins.”

Evelyn, a geneticist and amateur archeologist, makes a formidable discovery in Israel, leading to the birth of Christopher and José, identical twins raised apart, one in affluent Sydney, the other in the Buenos Aires slums. Unaware of each other’s existence, the twins meet as adversaries in the battle for the Amazon forest. Standing by both is Lorena, who organises student environmental resistance under a dictatorship. Participating in the launch will be Dr Con Costa, Professor Mat Santamouris, and the book’s editor, Ms Kiriaki Orfanos.
