This project by Sydney historian Vasilis Vasilas is an extension of his recent book Beyond the Shop Windows and Counters, which focuses on a wide range of Greek businesses in both the retail and industrial sectors of Marrickville. Little Athens presents the personal narratives and photographs of Marrickville’s shops and businesses, looking at their longevity and success, as well as their contribution to local, national and international markets. Presented as part of Inner West Council Library and History’s NSW Heritage Festival.

Marrickville Town Hall

There are two buildings, in the now abolished Marrickville Council area, which have held the title Marrickville Town Hall. The original town hall, is a heritage-listed building located at 96-106 Illawarra Road, Marrickville, an Inner West suburb of Sydney, in New South Wales, Australia.
